Sweet Mother of Vishnu, this makes me so happy. I have been a fan of Gill's for more than 15 years. Get his book A.A. Gill Is Away, which chronicles his travels when he is not in London savaging restaurants for the Sunday Times. No nation nor ethnic group is safe. He also wrote a novel called Starcrossed. His journalism far outstrips his prose fiction. He is a jewel.
